The new Pendleton Theater Company and Friends of the Opera House present Seven Brides for Seven Brothers!
Based on the classic film, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is an authentic piece of Americana, a time-tested romantic comedy with a special, contemporary relevance. Bringing the raucous Oregon frontier from the screen to the stage, it is a crowd-pleasing hit that has audiences cheering from the opening scene to the curtain call. Saddle up for a joyride in this tale of stubborn men and cunning women.
The men in question are Adam and his six unruly brothers, who think they know what a woman’s place is and how to keep her there. It takes Milly, Adam’s spirited new wife, and six other savvy women to show them who’s the boss.
As a film, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers delighted audiences with its whirlwind romances, memorable songs, and iconic choreography, and this energetic and adventurous staged version does the same.Â

The new Pendleton Theater Company and The Opera House Youth Actors present A Journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.
In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Friends of the Opera House Announce Plans to Expand to Pendleton
The Friends of the Opera House have taken a significant step
toward expanding their theatrical presence by signing a letter of understanding with the City of Pendleton to purchase the Bisnett Building—formerly the Christian Science Center—located in downtown Pendleton. This new space will
serve as a rehearsal and performance venue, allowing the organization to extend its successful Elgin-based operations to Pendleton.
Executive Artistic Director Terry Hale emphasizes that this expansion will not come at the expense of the Historic Elgin Opera House but will instead enhance regional arts programming. “Our goal is to build upon the work we’ve been doing at the Opera House and create new opportunities for our friends in Pendleton and the surrounding communities,” said Hale.
A key component of the expansion will be the development of a summer stock-style program, designed to capitalize on Pendleton’s peak tourism season. “In addition to community theatre and youth education programs, we hope to establish a dynamic summer season that will bring visitors to Pendleton for high-quality theatrical productions,” Hale explained. “Theatre enthusiasts will travel great distances for exceptional performances, and many plan their vacations around such events. We believe this endeavor will add even more energy to Pendleton’s already vibrant downtown.” To oversee the Pendleton-based operations, the Friends of the Opera House are launching a new performing arts organization: Pendleton Theater Company. This new initiative will be co-led by Hale and longtime Pendleton resident Karen Taylor, who is assembling a dedicated team of actors and technicians to help build the program. “We are thrilled to be increasing the opportunities for the Pendleton community to participate in theater,” said Taylor. “I am especially excited to get our local youth involved in all aspects of our productions.” The Pendleton Theater Company will offer its inaugural season this summer with three productions at the Vert Auditorium, including a youth summer camp.Â
Terry Hale and his wife, Stephanie, have strong ties to Pendleton, where Stephanie works and the couple maintains a residence. Their connection to the community, combined with a passion for theatre, reinforces their commitment to making this expansion a success.
